# curated.policy_water_district
TCEQ water districts statewide (MUD, WCID, FWSD, SUD, PUD, LID, ...), the state's own boundary layer (2,819 rows; category: Policy & investment zones; geometry column `geom` (MultiPolygon, EPSG:4326))
Notes: Prefer this over curated.policy_mud (the City's older copy of the same TCEQ layer). attrs->>'NAME' (e.g. 'Harris County MUD 105'), attrs->>'TYPE' ('MUD', 'WCID', ...), attrs->>'DISTRICT_ID', attrs->>'COUNTY' (one county even when a district straddles two), attrs->>'STATUS' 'A' = active. Districts overlap (a WCID can contain MUDs), so a point can fall in several. A district is a taxing/utility entity, not a water quality record: to get to water quality, find the water system that serves the spot via curated.infra_water_service_area.
